I just called RE. And I think I am going to start calling more often, even though I am not looking to get any subs. That girl sounds very nice. Here was our conversation haha..

Me: So what is the price on a new Sx 15?

Her: Are you a dealer or not.

ME: I am just a customer.

Her: Then it is $549

Me: Sounds good, now what would the price be if I was a dealer?

Her: Well I actually don't have the dealer pricing sheets here, dealers are supposed to call the dealer line.

It was a nice try, I thought I was going to get it out of her. She seems like a very nice person, but as far as having her answer the phone for my company I may think twice.

All of the prices are way up if you order them from RE I believe. Someone let me know if I am wrong, but I know for a fact the SX is now $549 strait from RE.

actually there was a rumor they're ditching the sx line for something like the SR line (iirc).

the reason i believe they jacked up the direct pricing is because they want to focus more on gettin B&M dealer support.

i guess thats the direction they are turning, and from the popularity they are gaining (being in those magazines and all) having majority dealer support would be the best form of action as well as the most profitable.

you see, who cares about the onesies and twosies here and there from random internet sales to individuals, where they can get the B&M dealers to buy thier stuff in "bulk" and the dealers can sell them at whatever the heck they want... so basically its a win for the dealers, and a win for the company. Both make money.

thats my take on it.
