The term used in the Back to the Future movies "1.21 Gigawatts" was written and pronounced incorrectly. Written in the script as Jigowatt and pronounced in the movie as "Jig-O-watts" the writers admitted they were unfamiliar with the term "Gigawatt" or 1 Million watts like Gigabyte = 1 million bytes. They heard someone who pronounced it incorrectly as Jigowatts and thought that was how it was supposed to sound. So it was written into the script... incorrectly. Now you know.

1.21 Gigawatts = 1,623 Horsepower or 1421 ft.lbs of torque at 6000rpm.
Was there any doubt that Jigawatt was a mispronunciation of gigawatt?
