Rainbow Germanium Crossover Questions

I read in the manual that the lights in the crossovers are only supposed to come on to protect the tweeter from clipping. The lights on mine are coming on when the volume is only at moderate levels. When it comes on, it gets pretty bright too. Is it supposed to be like that?

cant say for sure on the germaniums but on most crossovers that means the tweeters are being pushed too hard. what amp is powering them and how high is the gain on the amp set?

Not necessarily. The light will only come on with dc voltage. so your amp is either faulty or being pushed to hard. End of story. Get a bigger amp, or get a new one, or your speakers will be dead soon.

Would a bad amp ground be a cause of this?
