radion reception on Kenwood 516s

I just bought a Kenwood 516s and had it installed in my 02 Isuzu Trooper. The Trooper has the antenna integrated into two rear windows. On the factory unit, reception is great. Now, at best, I get fuzzy reception from local stations. There is no reception of stations over 30 miles away. The unit was installed by the store I purchased it at. Does anyone here have any ideas or experienced any other related issues?? Thanks in advance!

I am not positive, but you probably have a diversity antenna in the windshield of your trooper. the only thing I can suggest is running wire to an antenna that you install to the fender or maybe a fuba whip (like some vw's come with) on the roof..... or try getting a small fm antenna booster I wish i remembered the brand of the one we used to sell because I was impressed with the stations that came in after it's install....It was small no larger than 2"x4"
