"thump" subs, (got em cheap)

Hey I bought 2 10" 1200 watt "thump" subs, I got them Reeeaall cheap other wise I would just make fun of the kid sellin em, I have never near of thump before. so I put them in this piece jenson box, they sound like ****, the Mag's are 160 oz and it is dual voice coil, anyway the sub is so long it touches the tubes for the air holes. (by the way my box is a dual 10" bandpass) Im not any sub guru, but how can I make them sound better. (I hear a lot of "wind" noise's from the ports when I turn it up)

it depends how big your box is now. Usualy people create boxes custom for your application. The thump subs you have have in there now probly sound like crap. Since they are muffled. You must find a box that is (volume wise) big enough for your 2 subs. any ways i hope it all works out.

THE OTHER FOLKS ARE RIGHT. U NEED A BIGGER BOX. IF U WANT FIND A FRIEND THAT OWNS A BIGGER BOX THAT MATCHES THE SPEC'S REQUIRED FOR THE SUBS. (CALL THE MANUF.) AND GIVE'EM A TRY. THEY PROB. WONT BE GREAT, BUT IF UR JUST LOOKING FOR VOLUME THESE SHOULD PUSH ENOUGH AIR.

I'd hate to be the one to break it to you. But, thump is not exactly a quality sub, I don't care how big you build your box, you aren't gonna get good sound. Ever heard of Mobile Authority.........same company. Just chalk this one up to bad luck. If something sounds to good to be true, then it probably isn't. This would have been the place to go before you bought the subs. So my reccomendation to you is: follow the other kids example and sell them cheap.

im with phatillusion those subs **** i ounce herd them but this was like in 1989 or something like that and they ****** then just imagine how much more they **** now. I say get new ports seal up youre box real tight and buy a better quality sub . but if you want to try to fix those up good luck.

Come on guys dont you listen he got them cheap he knows they arent quality he needed a cheap set up and now he has one. I see people talking about getting w3's or perfects and people recommend eclipse TI's like money isnt the key to it all. Then you write if it looks to good to be true then you say it probably isnt you mean is duh so back off he knows what he got read it.
