Question of Math

okay....

since i started my stay here at caraudio.com ive noticed there is alot of math invovled in the manufacture of subs, such as there Xmax, ect. I understand the mathmatical concepts of building a system, such as ohms, box building, ect ect. However, i was wondering if anyone had any good refrence material for understanding the design and preformance of a sub?
