Hi, im not too sure about how to buy an amp

Does the RMS of the amp needs to be equal

or greater than the RMS of the sub???

Or should i only check the peak watts of

the amp and sub????

Thanks

If you're newer to car audio then you can pretty-much ignore the peak power rating. You've got the right idea of matching the RMS of amps and subs. RMS is the key number.

Yes rms is the key but it is also good to get a little extra power if ya can but then you have to be careful with how high you turn it up and how high you put the gain on your amp. Most subs and other are underrated so they dont get blown are offen or thats kinda what i have found to be true.
