Ports for my box...

I was reading MTX's site on building boxes, and i was wondering....

they state in there reading that it would be better to have ports running to the listening area (aka not the trunk) If i put ports for my box on top, and run them up outside the box to my rear deck, and make some holes comprable to the size of the pvc i would use for ports, would that give me a better listening experience?

basically your trappin all the air in the trunk... w/ the port holes through the top lid or wherever, youll be allowing more air to flow through the cab of the car...makin it louder, on the inside of the cab
