Ported Enclosure for the Brahma MKII PICS!!!

This is my ported enclosure I built for the Adire Brahma MKII. It's 2.0ft^3 tuned to 28Hz.

The beginning of construction

Up close of my 28Hz tuned slot port.

The DVC terminal cup wired in parallel to produce a 4ohm system load. I can easily make a 1ohm system load by simply re-wiring at the terminal cup. It's a lot easier than removing the sub.

Testing/Break-in being powered by a QSC USA1300 professional power amp.

I incorporated a grill design used in sound reinforcement enclosures. I lost a sub due to no grill protection. Can't let this happen to my Brahma!!! The grill design allows 2" of excursion without any interference.

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the results. The sound is absolutely amazing. Hits extremely low and clean, very transperant. Right now I have it my apartment since I'm wating to get the a new amp for the car. I believe my neighbors hate me now since it's so loud. Anyways, I have yet to finish the exterior. Still have to decide on what to cover the enclousre with. I'm going to router the edges and then maybe apply Dupli-Color truckbed liner. Not quite sure about the truckbed liner since I've read some negative results about it.

For those of you who like the box. I'm willing to build it for a reasonable price. I would say around $110ish. If interested send me a message. BTW, I'm not trying to steal business from other builders on the forum. Just trying to led a helping hand.

i got a quote from line-x truckbed liners and they said for $50 they would spray my enclosure giving it a waterproof protective coat. is that a reasonable price? if anyone knows of a cheaper company around the los angeles area, i would appreciate the info. thanks!

i want to do it myself but i can't find any product besides duplicolor truck bed liner. do you know of a different product? btw, i don't have an air compressor or paint spray gun so i can't use the kits that require those tools. thanks!!!

I know Wal-Mart has the spray on bed liner stuff it's just called something else. They also have gallons of the bed liner but you don't have a gun or a compressor. I would go with the spray cans, might get a tad expensive but that's your only route.

i'll have to look at a different wal-mart besides mine because the only one they had was the duplicolor brand. thanks for the tip!!

no, no. I used the spray from walmart. It is way too thin. I put like 6 coats on and it just looks like paint. Get the roll on from walmart it is much thicker.

i finally finished my enclosure. i decided to have it sprayed with line-x truckbed liner. i'm glad i chose line-x over duplicolor because it's extremely durable and looks very nice.

the line-x is extremely druable. i recommend it to everyone who wants to spray their enclosure. i also noticed it helps control the resonance of the enclosure.

if you've seen the prep photos, i had the port taped off so it wouldn't be sprayed. however, the guys at line-x recommended that i let the overspray enter the port. they said it would look odd if i left the port unsprayed since the line-x is a pretty thick coat. so far, i haven't noticed any performance difference.
