Which do you think produces better midbass for front stage? A well installed 6.5 component driver in an infinite baffle setup, or a 5.25 component in a ported enclosure?

Will the port compensate for the lesser cone area?

How much will the ported 5.25 affect SQ ?

and how will it affect power handling?

Providing you have a highpass crossover for the 5.25", that would be the way to go. Most car audio components are made for free air because of OEM door mounting, but most speakers require and should be placed in enclosures.

You seem to be saying 2 conflicting things:

comps are made for free air (infinite baffle)

comps require enclosures

Can you clarify your post?
