Port Turbulance?

After putting my subs back into my box I am getting a really weird humming/whistling sound from them. I rounded the edges of the PVC ports in the box and now I am getting a sound like blowing air over a beer bottle. What's up? should I not have beveled the bottom? Rounding off the ports is something that you should have done to begin with, it reduces port whistle, as you found out.

The beer bottle noise may be because you don't have the ports secure enough, or the tone you were playing was so low it was causing the ports to make that noise.

What are the specs of your box, port area, subs, and power used?
