Please Help Me Arrange My New Equipment...How Would YOU Go About It?

Hi peoplez,

I need some advice.

My car has locations for 3-1/2's, 6-3/4's, and 6x9's.

I am about to get an Audiobahn A6004T, rated 75wrms x4 @12.5v. I know some of you may say there are better for the money or something like that, but I need it's compact size (9-7/8" x 9-7/8").

Ok, I have Infinity 63.5i's & 693.5i's, with some Infinity 3-1/2's on the way. All with the same CMMD tweeters.

I have a Pioneer HU that puts out 22wrms x4.

Now, how should I do this?....

1)Infinity 3-1/2's= 30wrms

2)Infinity 63.5i's= 75wrms

3)Infinity 693.5i's= 110wrms

I've heard some folks talk about amping their front speakers, and letting their HU power their rearfil, BUT, would that be the right thing for ME in this situation?

The Audiobahn does 75wrms x4. And I'm looking for lots of midbass. So, would it be better to put the Audiobahn on the 63.5i's & the 693.5i's, and let the HU power the 3-1/2's?

Do you think that would still sound good?

I want plenty of midbass, but I also want majority of my sound coming from the front. The 3-1/2's and 6-1/2's should make it louder up front than the 6x9's shouldn't they?

Another thing....

I have a Brutus 1500D, and soon to have the Audiobahn 6004T.

So my next question is, do you think a 125amp alternator would work fine with my setup?

I can get the 125amp from Auto Zone for my car for $200. But if I need something like a 200amp alt, I'll need to get one from HO Alts, which will run me almost $500.

I like my sound balanced, plus my sub is way loud (to me), so I don't turn my Brutus up all the way. So the Brutus probably won't be drawing all the current that it could.

So which is it?

The 125amp alt, or a 200amp alt?

Oh, almost forgot. I have an 800amp battery in my trunk if that matters.

Help me out,

Thanx.

Just curious, is this a newer Neon? I would put 6.5" mids in the doors, the tweets to match them in the dash and run that off a 2 channel amp from Hifonics (cause it will match you Brutus, and it isn't Audiobahn). Leave the rear speakers off entirely.
Thanx man,

No, it's a Cirrus.

Do you think the 6.5" speaker will create enough midbass?

Also, if I do what you said, I'll probably need to get the Infinity 1" CMMD tweeter instead of the 3.5". Bcuz the 1" can take 50wrms, and the 3.5" can only take 35wrms.

Sound right to you?

Also what strength amp from Hifonics do you recommend?

Thanx.

Seems like you are stuck on Infinity. Any particular reason? They're not known for their midbass performance, even their 6x9s are a bit lacking IMO. Look at some different brands for your speakers. With the money that you save by not getting the 6x9s you can get pretty good front speakers. How much were you looking at spending total on speakers? We can recommend some based on that.

You can get the Hifonics ZX4000 on eBay for $140+s&h. 100watt per channel. Should be plenty for most any front stage. If you want a bit more, the ZX6000 is about $170 + shipping.

I'm not stuck on Infinity, it's just that I already have 2 pairs of their 3 way 6.5" speakers & a pair of their 3 way 6x9's. One pair was given to me for free by Nexxon when I bought my Crystal subs.

Yeah, you don't have to tell ME about their lack of midbass, lol. I know first-hand. I thought maybe an amp would improve it. They are very clear to me though.

I am going to sell all of them, plus a pair of 6x9 boxes. If anybody is interested let me know. $80 for a pair of 693.5i's, their boxes, and a pair of 63.5i's.

Anyway....

Helotaxi, how about these?:

I'd buy a Hifonics 100wrms x2 to power them.

I'm just after good solid midbass with good clarity in the vocals and treble.

Let me know,

Thanx

I'm happy,

I just got a Hifonics Zeus ZX4000 & a Polk Audio MM6 component set from Sounddomain.com for $352 shipped.

Since they are an authorized dealer for both, I get the full manufacturer's warranty.

I think it was a pretty good deal.

When I get them hooked up, I'll have a pair of Infinity 63.5i's, a pair of Infinity 693.5i's(3 weeks old), and a pair of 6x9 boxes for sale. $90 shipped.

yeeeehah!

hehehe...

Where can I get that done?
Is there any down side to getting an alt rewound?
Go through the phone book under automotive electrical systems or something to that affect. Theyll be able to tell you if your stock alt is capable of being rewound. However if its not I imagine they would be able to hook you up with a new HO alt for less then autozones prices. I just bought a 175 amp alt from a local shop for $180 out the door.
