phone question for joo alls

i dont need a plan phone, (verizon, att etc..) so i was thinking about getting a prepaid/pickup and go. who has used these and what do u recommend. verizon has the better coverage in my area fyi. but what should i look for and deals. i will only be using this for emergency type calls.

With the prepaid phones it helps if you know someone else who has one. Around here the prepaids only get service in a limited area so when you need it the most they dont work.
