Phase shift, bass boost, crossover?

Hey I am finally getting everything finished up.. I read the thread on gain, and that helped a lot, but what do i do about the other knobs? My amp is a memphis 1.5kd (1500 watt class d), and there's a "phase shift" "bass boost" and "crossover"... some of them are self explanitory, but like how do i calculate all that in with the gain etc.. thanks for the help-- Andrew

Phase shift depends how out of phase your subs are.. basically leave it at zero (as long as your subs are wired correclty). Bass boost is how much you want to boost the bass, I would say keep that low as well, so you don't send clipped/distorted power to it.

Crossover is where you want to cut your sub out and stop playing music through it. Usually anywhere's from 60-120hz will work fine, depending on personal tastes, and equipment.

TOBZ this is just a question but why do you say to keep the bass boost at 0? I have always put mine about 25 to 50%. I have never had a clipping problem. Granted I never run my stuff at max like some people. I find the bass boost adds a better sound. But again that is my taste.

The crossover on the amp is a freq dial. It adjusts the freq of music you want your amp to put out to your speakers. If you are playing music you can play with the dial to get the desired sound you like. But I agree with TOBZ. I like mine set at the 100 Hz. It is a good clean number for most subs.
