Peal and Seal

So is it confirmed that Peal and Seal works just as great as the next sound deadner? I went out and bought 1 thing. (didnt want to get too carried away since im still skeptical) And since it wasnt for that much, i was just like what da hay. But anywayz, i have searched and searched all morning and since i think the sun is at its peak, i was just wondering would peal and seal be the same. I was going to invest in some Damplifier but i emailed them and never got a reply back. I dont know if it didnt go through or what so after reading about peal and seal, i semi decided to try it. I dont want to end up with a horror story with tar or what ever everywhere. But then again, i dont want to spend un necessary money. And far as the Tar smell, i keep air freshners in my car. If i have too, i'll double up on the air freshners. I guess i would like final opinions before i start applying.

oh and if it doesnt work as good as i expected. and i decide to try and take it off. (if thats possible, would degreaser take off the extra tar?)

I've had it for 2 days now and I don't smell any tar in the car, in the trunk, or even when I was applying it so I wouldn't worry too much about that. As far as excess tar on ur trunk, I would just heat it up with a blow driver or some sort of heat device which will make it eventually come off.

Peace

Man I've been on a mission tryin' to find the stuff, I've been to Home Depot and Lowes etc. I heard Menards has it but that's an east coast store that isn't available here....CAn someone who's bought the stuff tell me the upc# so I can have Lowes order it? I'd appreciate that!

As in UPC code I hope ur talkin about the numbers that are along side the bar code cause here they are, im just gonna give u the #'s the way they show on it.

7 25799 50112 4

And if that dosn't help it's made by MFM Building Products Corp.

Peace

Well, i went ahead and started applying the peel and seal to my trunk. Went out and bought 2 more rolls. By that time though, it was dark so i pulled my car in the garage and pulled out the hair dryer. I had a friend of mine helping, and he is lazy might I add. So he was heating up the peel and seal and cutting it, while i was applying it to my trunk. Got up today and checked on everything. I found a piece of peel and seal on the floor. So i layed back in my trunk to check everything else. And everything was in place. Nice and tight might i add. I think that one piece feel because it was going over a hump. Got lazy and didnt cut it perfectly. so it would be nice and flat. Other wise, everything was alright. Lets just hope and pray it stays that way.

Oh and i went out and got some grub 1 in da morning because i was a lil hungry after all that work. music sounded great. wasnt as many vibrations coming from the trunk. But im still going to apply a few more layers. But these are my experiences.

Ok heres a new follow up......

Well this morning i checked everything before going to church, seemed fine. But it was also cool outside. Car still nice and cool in the inside.

Well after church, since it was pretty hot outside i decided to pop the trunk again and check on everything. My trunk lid is great. Nothing has came off. Nothing has moved as if it wants to come off.....My rear dash is another thing. I cleaned the surface before applying just like i done my trunk, but for some reason it keeps getting loose. It hasnt feel off, but im pretty sure if i didnt notice it, in another day or so it would have came off. I was pretty upset, but not too much since the stuff really didnt cost too much.

So all in all, im pretty satisisfied with the sound. Works great on my side walls and floor. The trunk is awsome too. But my rear dash dissapointed me alot. So now i have to think of a way to keep that up. If any of you have any suggestions on how to make it stay up, feel free to give them too me. So if i had to give this stuff a letter grade. It will be a C or C+ (the rear dash thing kinda got to me) But hey, i guess its one of those things, u get what you pay for...

i went to lowes today and they looked at me if i was crazy. i tried explaining what i needed and they said to go to a roofing store. im still hesitant about putting the peel n seal on the underside of my rear deck. i think it will fall off in the fl heat.

If you want to get some Peel and Seal go to your local Roofing retailer. Peel and Seal is a roofing agent, and to Sleek Benzo... if you want go get some let me know, via pm or email, I can pick up some for you and bring it to ya if you want. LMK

Picked up a roll today for 20 bucks. all i did was my trunk lid so far...did three layers and there is a definate improvment. I threw a couple of scrap pieces on the back of my license plate, and that helped a lot too. Haven't noticed any bad smell yet, but it was getting a little squishy in the sun. Hopefully it holds up.
