Parallel Wiring DVC Sub ?

I have an odd question for yall...When you wire a single DVC sub in parallel does it matter which coil you wire the power (+ and -) from the amp. What I mean is that you have one wire going from - to - and one from + to + ... then you wire one of those + and - terminals to the amp...what I am questioning is does it matter which terminal you put the power to...like should power go to one voice coil or + on one coil and - on the other?
