opinions on mp3 players

I'm in the market to pick up an mp3 player, and with all the choices out there i'd like to get some opinions on some different makes.

The few i have in mind are...

iRiver 20GB

Creative Labs 20GB

and the obvious iPod (though i'd rather not get this one).

Any opinions/other brands i should look into? I'd like to get the most for my money and get something good right off the bat instead of breaking/returning them to find something worth while

I just got a sansa m200 and i must say i love it! it plays MP3's,WMA's, has F.M. radio, and a recorder on it

Both the Creative and the iRiver are excellent alternative choices to the iPod.

this seriously will kill any other mp3 players on the market. I havbe owned it for like 4 months now and is seriously the best thing i have ever bought. Easy to navigate organize, 30+ hours of playtime!!, awsome soundquality and hard as a rock,plays movies, wma mp3s, photographs.

Seriously buy this mp3 player...you will not regret it whatsoever. Especially for the $$$ Look for reviews you wont find a negative.

edit,forgot to mention you can voice record, fm tuner, RECORD FROM THE RADIO!!!, USB host(transfer files from another source to this,acts like a computer) umm theres probably more shit but i cant think of it.

Zen touch 20 gb

I love it, and the battery life is amazing.

Yeah, i'm pretty torn now.

The one that playa posted plays videos too, which would be awesome for trips/vacations.

I wanted the Creative Zen Micro 20gb but they were sold out. It has gotten a lot of great reviews on cnet. I unexpectedly got the iPod 30g for Christmas. I would still prefer the Creative, but I'm not bishin! By the way the iPods battery sucks
