I am working on my doors, dynamating them and building a new plate to hold the midrange. When I ordered my speakers I ordered 5.25 cause that is what I was told goes in my doors, well they actually hold 6.5. so the car shop cut a plate to mount them on in my door. When I took my door panel off to start some dynamating I noticed that their plate they built to hold the midrange was a shitty attempt at doing so, only two of the four screws actually screwed into it to hold the speaker. So I cut a plate out of some spare MDF I have layin around and dynamated my door. Now my arms look like I ran through a briar patch a few times and I have it all done. Not to mention my door panel barely goes back on now that I added that plate and dynamat. it is a very tight fit for my panel to snap on. But **** does it sound so much better now. I have read all over where it makes such a difference but I always thought, yeah whatever, well now I see/hear that it does make a big difference. My little 5.25 midrange sounds awesome now.
Now just to do the passenger side door.
