Old Rockfords, Fo Sho?

No, those subs will only be able to be wired to 1 and 4 ohms. You need dual 2 ohm, or they need to be single 4 ohm. If you aren't out for all out SPL, let us know, and there are a ton of recomendations we can throw your way.

Depends on if that amp is 1000rms @ 2 ohms. If it is then I wouldn't put it all on that sub as it will be getting double its rms power. Why not buy 2 of the dual 2's and give em 500wrms each?

Oops yeah i meant to show the link to the daul 2 ohm ones. Thats what i meant. daul 2 ohm voice coil subs are better than single 4 ohm subs right? Uh im new here and uh... i dont know what SPL means =). But judging from from the context, Im not completely stuck on one brand. I dont know much about other brand sub woofers, but im deffinatley down for any suggestions any of you would like to give. Im sure theres cooler better stuff out there... i would LOVE to here "tons of recommendations" from you all, im sure you all can give me a lot on insight. thanks

Alright, first the voice coil configuration does not make a sub better or worse, it just determines compatability with certain amplifiers. SPL=Sound Pressure Level, it is basically just getting very loud, and if you have any sound quality, it is a by product. SQ=Sound Quality, do you care more about your music sounding good? or just getting really loud? Or are you somewhere inbetween. Let us know, and also what kind of budget you may have. If you are just looking to get loud, those Rockfords are not bad choices at all.

O ok i get you now. Yeah i like sound quality, but also loud. its hard to say, but i think im more for sound quality than loudness. Thats what my complaints about my old set up were, i didnt like the way it sounded. i had 2 infiniti 12"s and a bazooka 500 amp, seal box, run paralelle. My infiniti's were single voice coil though, im not sure i know the difference in sound from single to daul voice coils. But I think the rockfords might be good, because im sure i could tune it to where i like it. I DO really love bumpin too, so i guess i do fall somewhere in the middle. I would like to know a little in sounds from the different type voice coil subs. What are some recommendations?

Budget... lets say i dont want to spend more than $300 per sub. And im looking for 2 12"s

Um, you'll probably be fine ithe the Rockfords. Like i said earlier Voice coils have no bearing on the performance of the sub, only the compatability of it. Build a ported box for them to their specifications, and it will sound decent, and get very loud.
