Of these choices, which HU would you choose?

I'm considering the following HU's...

Jensen MP5010K

Rockford Fosgate RFX9300

Pioneer Premier DEH-P740MP

JVC KD-SH99

I'm leaning towards the Pioneer, but I don't know for sure. If not any of these, do you guys have any opinions? These forums have been erally helpful these past few days for me, because you know so much about all of this. Any input would, again, be greatly appreciated.

Pioneer Premier - Excellent HU's and excellent reputation. Not over priced. Rockford Fostgate - Good, but over priced. JVC - Not bad, but certainly not my favorite. Jensen - Only if it's the only one you can afford. It will work and you may be happy with it, but they are known to have their share of problems.

I definitly agree with natem33. I am considering getting a similar h/u. I also believ that he is right on the money about RF being overpriced, and that goes for most everything that has the RF logo on it. RF is good quality but it is some expensive stuff.

rf hu **** they are overpriced and little or no features go with the pioneer

By far go with the Pioneer Premier. My brother lives and dies by those and they are quality. The JVC is the next choice. Stay away from Jensen I have never heard good things about them.

I have the JVC HU its by far the best one I've seen yet, It is the only one out of the ones you metioned that displays the MP3 tag info, the others only display the filename. It is loaded with features and is rock solid. By the way, JVC and clarion are now owned by the same people so the quality of JVC's engenieering has gone way up, (no broken motors for the faceplae like the kameleons)

Actually, the deh-p740 displays ID3 tags. Are there any technical differences between the deh-p740 and the deh-p7400 besides the number of pre-outs? From all the research I have done recently, go with the pioneer, I am about to buy either the p7400 or p740, I just need to know if I should shell out the extra cash for the 740.

Pioneer has a new mp3,cd,cd-r,cd-rw player out called the deh-p8400mp, it has all the of the same features as the deh-730 and deh-740 with the addition of a brushed aluminum slide down face that has a second face behind it, new and better graphics on its organic EL display, and 4volt pre outs(sub,fr,r),ect,ect,ect,blah,blah,blah....

I just saw this deck over at Future Shop and Im totally blown away, I want that deck bad, Its the nicest looking head unit I have ever seen. It retails for 799.00 bucks Canadian, I'm going to sell one of my testicles so I can replace my old deh-730 with this absolute masterpeice of a head unit.

As for the person who was asking what the difference between the preimier pioneer and the regular pioneer head units- To my experience pioneer only makes cosmetic changes when they make a "preimier" model and they boost the warranty an extra year, other than that models like the deh-6300, 7300, 7400 are pretty much identitcal to the premier models like the deh-630, 730, 740.

Get the Pioneer premier. I have it and it's one of the best in quality and sound out there. You won't regret it.

I also agree with everyone goin with pioneer... i have heard alot of great things about them, and personally i like the the options that some of them come with.. Go PIONEER... or GO HOME:D
