I paid for an Alpine SWR-1240 and went out that same night and bought an amp to power it at a good deal. A few weeks later, the sub arrives in the mail (today) and it is an Alpine SWR-1240D.... DVC. My question is, how do I wire this??

I have a Rockford 360.2 amp and will have this one sub in a sealed box. Can I run each VC off of each channel in the amp? Will my amp run smoothly at 2ohms or would this kind of power be too much for my sub?

Help??!! I don't have much more money to put into this and I don't want to wait another several weeks to send it back (besides, he doesn't have any SVC).

Thanks,

BT

Your RF amp should be ok at 2 ohms mono, and your sub being in a sealed enclosure sould be ok with that power. Just be careful for the time being and don't play it for hours at high volume and a lot of bass.

I'd suggest trying to sell your 360.2 on ebay and picking up something along the lines of a jbl 600.1. Or the small mtx class D. Anything stable at 2 ohms that will give you 400 ish.

if you wire it in series it'll push those dvcs' . go to rockford fosgate .com and get specs on wiring w/ the 360.2 and w/ the right crossover you should be fine
