Ok, after having been to only one competition, I'm still really really confused about brands on subwoofers. The place that held this comp was full of treo groupies, but that's because that was the main brand the store sold. And around here (i'm sure it's like this other places) all the kids like the brands the stores they got their **** installed in use.. i.e. Metro Audio kids say treos are the best, Stereo West say kickers are the best, In phase say MA audio are the best, and Sound waves (my personal favorite place.. they do the best work IMO at the cheapest price) kids like DB drive and Memphis. I use DB drive.. and although I love them, I'm not gonna run around screamin they're the best b/c i haven't used anything else enough (LA sound can **** my balls.. those things blow) to offer a sound comparison. So I was wondering, from the many experienced people here on caraudio.com, what's the best SQ sub, what's the best medium level SPL (by medium i mean 1000-1500 RMS handling) sub, and what's the best hardcore sub? FYI i'm used to looking at 12's, and that's what I'm looking into buying, but any size will do. Any and all input will be appreciated. Thanks, Fitz.

on a side note.. i can do all my own installs.. but i have no clue how to install an alarm and (at the time of install) how to make a box. So, since i had soundwaves install the alarm and make the box.. and i bought the speakers, sub, and cap from them, i figured i'd just have them profesionally install it too.. 'sides, they're cool guys and they do install work for free now for me.
