New System Setup, Trying to Finalize

Here's my new system, Expedition 2000

H/U - Pioneer Avic-N1

Door Speakers - PIONEER TS-A6870R 3 way 6X8" 220 W SPEAKERS

Subs - Not sure, Need suggestions for 2 12" = $300 to spend

Amp - Soundstream Van Gogh - 5 Channel - 800w

Box - Depends on Subs

Putting in Viper 2way, Rear Camera, TV Tuner, and Still deciding on a 10" flip down for the back.

Any suggestions on 2 12" subs? I would like some SPL with a bit of good SQ mixed in and I would prefer not to use just one expensive sub. I could also change the amps around depending, but that was the suggestion when I outlined what I wanted in speakers. I was looking at JL Audio 12W3v2 D6 but I haven't heard much feedback on them in here. I did the search and nothing much was stated.

Any suggestions is GREATLY appreciated!

I would get better door speakers. I'd get a single set of components in the front and lose the rear speakers. You can get some decent deals on ebay for Infinity Reference 6.5" component speakers, among many others available. There are some ok model Crystal speakers available for cheap too, check em out.

Ditch that amp, it will put out nowhere near enough power to move 1 12" let alone 2 12". Better to get a 2 channel amp for the front components, and a mono amp for the subs. I'd suggest maybe a pair of Kicker CompVR? That would fit into your budget nicely and allow more money leftover for the amps and speakers.

What's your total budget?

What about some Elemental Designs O series subs? Awesome sound quality and really good spl. Can get loud and maintain great SQ. You can get a pair for $330 shipped or find a pair used for a little less.

Sub: Stereo Integrity Magnum d2 ($300-350 http://www.stereointegrity.com) 12" or 15"...this one 12 or 15 will beat out any 2 12's for the same price total.

Amp: Phoenix Gold Tanrum 1200.1 ($320 NEW on ebay)

I agree with everything there. If you get that tantrum 1200.1 you're going to want to upgrade your electrical system though, if you haven't already.

I can't update the electrical at the moment, what other suggestions for an AMP on a Magnum 12 (15's sold out)

well, hifonics bx1500d, visonik v900xd, jbl bp1200.1...those should all be more efficient than the tantrum. You'll still want to upgrade your electrical system eventually though...you'll be dimming pretty bad with all of those at high volume.

go with a hifonics bx1000d, or jbl600.1 (ported only), and any other amp from 600-1000 watts rms. peace

Well, I decided to go with a lesser setup then originally planned...having a wife does that to ya.

Going with the Kickers compvr 12"

Hifonics 1500

Figuring out the box now, need a bit of help with this. (I have a 2000 Expedition, gonna need to fit something behind the 3rd seat) I am also considering Gnome if the shipping price doesnt kill me.

Door Speakers still baffled on. I would like to have speakers in the front and back doors along with the subs in the very rear.

Then I need a (i think) 4 channel amp for the door speakers

I plan on upgrading the subs later, maybe Magnum 12"s when the money is there. But for now everything that I have heard about the compvrs has been positive.

I was also thinking of the Phoenix Gold 15" deal they have on ebay, but I think that is too much hassle for me right now amp wise and electrical wise.

So I guess I still need suggestions for Door Speakers, I kinda like those Pioneers, Door speaker Amps, Hifonics 1500; good for the 2 12's? And Phoenix Gold v Compvrs

Ok, bit more surfing again.. Maybe I am putting way too much thought into this =\

Finalizing more, suggestions please

-Avic-N1

-TV Tuner - Pioneer 6400

-Front Door Speakers: CDT CL-61a (great threads on this speaker set, talked me into it)

-Back Door Speakers: CL-6X (I feel like I would be missing something without speakers there. Could I just leave my Original speakers there for now? Bad Idea? Advice please)

-Amp for front speakers: None, need cheap good amp or do I need one at all with what the HU pushes out(Advice please)

-2 CompVR Subs - SPL mixed with great components up front I am thinking

-Hifonics 1500 - Good and Bad reviews, either way the price is right and I wouldnt have to upgrade my Alt immediately

-Box - Gnome-Meister maybe, need to figure out pricing on ported box custom box for back of the Exp.

-Pioneer Alarm - 2 way - not sure of the model number, but was quoted $350 installed, has autostart and windows included.

-Install - Ok this is my worry area. I really would like to get someone that is Pioneer Approved, how important is this on the warranty? This is $1500 tossed away if it all goes bad. Anyone know anyone in LA or OC in california?

Amp for the components is a must! Check out a u.s. acoustics 2100 for them, as for the rear fill...just run them off the HU. good luck, peace
