So I built my wife a new setup in her s10. Setup is 3 audio legion Maximus 12s, Skar rp3500.1 . Ported box tuned to 36hz. Blow through setup. 200 amp alt. Big 4 and dual optima yellow top batteries. These thing should hammer and they just won’t without having to crank the gain on the amp way up and I hate doing that. Wire at 1.34 ohm at the subs. I’m just stumped at this point crossover settings are good, lpf are good. New ct sounds 3 ways sound amazing. Subs just seem like they are weak until I crank the gain up a lot i I shouldn’t have to. Any ideas? I checked all wires, grounds, even out an oscilloscope on it and set it right before clip and still weak.

I'm also a fan of 4v preout or higher head units, much less gain needed on the amp. The Kenwood higher end units send 5v, so they are stout, I have a X705 and love it, alas I couldn't fit a double din lol. On my last setup I didn't go with a stronger preout setup and ended up using a Massive that I didn't like then an Audio Control LC1, it was night and day and the sub got loud much easier. If you do not want to buy a new deck try the LC1, a little pricey, but much cheaper than a new deck.

There was a time when a Phoenix Gold Bass Cube would have solved all your problems
But I agree with above
LC1i or LC2i and you should be good
Given the money you have already sunk into your build I'm thinking $100-$150 won't break the bank

You may even look into an indash PreAmp EQ that will allow for more control at your finger tips along with an increase of voltage signal.

Id sit down and figure out exactly what all you will be installing for amperage consumption and add another 10-15% amperage useage on top of that...
