new here couple of questions

hey all new here i have 15'' inch memphis power refrance subs, rockford fosgate 451s amp,audiofonics 1.5 digtial farad cap in a 97 ford tarus.aw the box is sealed basic 50 $ box.The subs hit good but low notes stink the guy at the place where i bought em said that audio control epiccenter piece would do it any suggestions.and if any one has the power refrance subs could give me some feedback would be cool.

Was the box built to the specs of the woofer?Rem the box has alot to do with how ur sub is going to sound.

no it was a basic cheap box.they gave me a 200$ price for a custom box.i found a ported box at a convention center sale for 80 bucks.i want a ported box.do you know if i could put port tubes in my sealed box i saw the tubes at cruthfield

What u need to do is save up ur cash and have a ported box built to specs set by the manufacturer.

i want to when i get the extra money.they hit good but sound distored in that box.have any of u heard good things about the power series amps.its 450 watts the subs say there 400 peak.is that good i dont understand the peak watts or rms or anything

They're pretty cheap, but get loud and low. One good thing about them is that they don't really need massive boxes to get the job done.

My guess is you have the SVC 4ohm version of the sub (they were also available in DVC 4ohm) ... and your amp is bridged to put out somewhere around 450 watts @ 4ohm. Which is just right for your sub.

Do you know how many cubic feet your current box is? L x W x H (in inches) ... then divide by 1728. Be sure to factor in the sub displacement and the wood displacement.

There are people on this message forum who will build you a box for much less than $200 ... or you can do it yourself (they're really not that hard if you have the tools ... actually, if all you have is a drill, you can build it yourself --- Donn (LoneRanger) will send you pieces all cut to spec and all you need to do is drill them together).

So ... all in all ... I'd take a serious look at your box. A good sub and a good amp don't need to be held back by a horrid box.

there dual voice coils the 15pr154d.yea the box is one of those generic boxes.i got the box specs around here somewere i ll have to talk to some one and see if they can make me a good box.the good thing about taurus is the trunk space.
