If I were to have 2 amps each running 1,000 watts, would I need a new alternator, or would it be just as good(or better) to toss a battery in the trunk?
Thinking about a Blitz Audio BZA2560, Lanzar Vibe 251 or 261, Legacy LA1990, LA2060, or LA1870; unless those are all junk...? Regardless, I'm looking at running a total of 2,050 watts, including my mid/high amp. Thanks
yes...a new battery will help, but you now need to feed two batteries..even with an isolator.
Let's get one thing straight...if you have an amp that does 1000 watts at 13.8v, and can only keep a constand 12.X volts, your not getting the full 1000 watts.
You need supply, and demand. You need both input to help for the max output. I've seen some pretty slick power setups, only to be drained by inexpnsive setups in the charging area...they would be really loud, if the current feed was there...yet they bought more amps because it wasn't loud enough.
Get the current input there, you will see a difference! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Out of the brands that you listed, I would only go with Lanzar and it would have to be the OptiDrive series or the Rack Series. Not sure if the amps you listed will give you 2000+ watts.
A second battery may help but for daily driving the problem will only been covered with a bandage.
