haha, this time it's with an easy question; I learned this stuff in like gr 10 or 11 I think... but for some reason I cannot figure it out now... Forget how to do it.

I searched for help and struggled finding the right work.

but I have to find the value of X... and here is my equation.

50,000,000 = 29,999,200 ^ X/21

anyone know how to find the x value when it is an exponent in an equation and then divided by a number (21)

its based upon logrithm.

define log_n(x) as the base-n logrithm of x. eg log_10(100) would be base-10 log of 100 (which is 2).

A = B^C

log_B(A) = C

note that you can get log_B(A) from (IIRC) log_10(A)/log_10(B)

not overly hard. you should expect to get a positive value for X.

ok... first ur ganna need to multiply 21 by 50,000,000

next whatever number that came out to is the number u have to get 29,999,200 raised to the power of X to equal to....

i hope u have at least a Ti83plus calculater for this.... it shouldnt take to much time to figure out what the number has to be but ur ganan havin to use some guess and check to figure it out.. it will def be a positive number

No need for a TI-83, or a guess and check or anything like that.

Just learn the basic concepts of logs like thch meantioned and this problem should be a breeze.
