i agree that genetics plays a bigger role than race... however different races carry different genes... therefor i believe that it is safe to say that ON AVERAGE, one race CAN be better than another at certain things.

That being said... black people can be better at sports than white people, but not always, and this isn't true for all aspects of every game. I happen to believe that MOST black people have the gift of speed and agility over white people... but because white people lack the physical ability in SOME aspects and in SOME sports, white people have adapted to play the game smarter at times... not to say black people can't, but black people don't have to play the battles of wits because they have the physical ability that most white people don't.

Obivously this scenario could be reversed depending on the sport...

All people are capable, it just depends on what your strengths are and how you use them.

`Seems to me there is some validity to this quote in some sense, many african americans do have a certian aptitude for sports. It's hard to say what the percentages of this remanis to be versus the caucasian population...
Africans (within reason) have lived in tribal settings (before they were brought from africa) for many generations longer than european races. This means that natural selection and survival relied for a longer time on physical attributes which would assist them to live in the harsh conditions under which they lived.

Just a thought i guess. Eurpeans became civilized ie fat and lazy sooner than africans.

another point to this, and no im not racist, when black people were enslaved and brought to this country only the strongest of them survived the weaker and inferior ones well sadly we know what happened to them, so slave owners basically bred a stronger more dominant part of the race, well yes over years that will dissapate but an edge was still there

seeming as how genetics differ among races, and genetics determine your physical abilities, i would have to say that you are somewhat wrong. Yes athletics is more than just physical ability, but physical ability makes up a huge portion of athletic performance.

I didn't say race has EVERYTHING to do with athletic ability... but it certainly does play a role.

Actually gramma might be right as well. Racehorses (successful ones) often have larger lungs, nasal passages and bronchial passages in general seem to have more endurance etc.

Same thing with people, I guess.

Also, lance armstrong has a huge heart, his heart is twice the size of a standard persons heart... Which gives him remarkable physical ability.

There are many world running records held by white people. Especially in the long distance section.
