I'm about to wire up my magnum to this amp @ 1ohm.. I know how to wire the voice coils on the sub.. but I'm not sure which positive and negative to plug into on the amp. Below is a small diagram and picture of the speaker inputs.

+ - + -

Here's a picture of the wiring inputs, which are obviously on the left side.

Which positive and which negative do I plug into to achieve a 1ohm load?

All help appreciated.. thanks.

No, I know where the positives and negatives are.. there are 2 sets and I'm asking which positive and negative I'm supposed to plug into to acheive a 1ohm load. Do I plug my negative wire on the left negative and my positive wire on the right positive, or vise versa? I have the sub wired, I just need to know where to plug in my pos and neg ends. I really need a speedy response.. as I'm running the power cable right now.. and I'm ready to get this baby jamming.

It should be bridged inside of the amp like the Mmats and many other amps. Even 99% of the A/B class amps ive worked with, the 2 outside terminals are the bridging points... So, use the first + and the last -.....

Thanks for the help Matt. I should've asked this in the beginning.. but what about for a 4ohm load?-Marcus

I'm not familiar with your amp....Is it a mono amp? If so it makes no differance which positive and negative you use. And it won't matter if you switch the wires on the amp you still won't get a 4 ohm load.......You would have to wire the sub differant (series with dual 2 ohm coils) to get 4 ohms

the ohm load is what the subs are running at. you can't control it from the amp.

If you were going to run it at 1 ohm you would run a wire from the positive on the amp to a positive on the sub, and then the negative on the amp to the negative on the sub that is paired with the positive terminal already hooked up to the amp. then run a separate positive wire from the one that is hooked up to the amp to the positive terminal that isn't hooked up yet. do the same for the negative.

bingo, a 1 ohm load on a D2 magnum.

And chosing terminals should be simple on that amp as it is mono (or so i think) if it isn't mono, then plug the positive negative wires into the terminals on the amp specified by the manual to get it to run bridged

Yes, the amp is a class D mono. I already knew how to wire the sub.. I just wasn't sure which terminals to use on the amp.. but thanks for all the help, it's much appreciated. I've got it all running now @ 1ohm, with the gain WAY down... and it sounds beautiful.. best $350 I've ever spent. She's sittin in a sealed box @ 2cubes.. I'm planning on making a ported box for it.. but thats in months to come. Thanks again for the help guys, Later.
