need help quick

im puting a system in my dads truck for him. i have it all wired right and everything I THINK, but the amp isnt working properly. ok i got a test light and tested for hot wires and the remote wire was hot and the power wire was hot. Is the ground supposed to be hot,is the light supposed to blink on my test light???because the light isnt blinking

I had a Hifnonics amp long long time ago and if you don't have the ground securely to the metal part of your car it'll go in protection mode. Just somethin for you to check.
