i am currently starting my 4th semester at itt tech in there computer and electronics engineering program. i feel that its not give me the information that i need/want for a great future. i have a 3.44 gpa as it stands right now, but would be alot higher if i was challenged. i feel that im not being challenged here and i want to get the most for my money. i am thinking about changing schools currently and going to somewhere in a program directed right towards electronics engineering. the program i am currenty in is based more towards computers then electronics and it took me 3 semester to figure this out. i want to go specifically for electronics engineering based towards small electronics such as amplifiers and intgrated circuits and such. can someone steer me in the right direction of some very good schools that will give me a great education. all your help is appreciated

im not applying myself, because its not much that interests me. i dont want computer and electronics engineering that is based more towards computers. i want all electronics. so far most of it has all been computers so i just dont go to classes and just pick up my homework and do it at home. all of my homework assignments are all turned in on time and usually alway 95% or 100%. its the participation points that kill me. im never there and still i have a 3.44 and amazing homework and quiz grades, its just my participation points, and i dont really go a ton because its nothing that interests me. i want all electronics everyday all the time. thats why im looking for advice on schools

Are you wanting to get a four year degree? If so, I doubt any of your credits will transfer so that may be something to think about.

U of M is a good engineering school, Iowa State, Miami of Ohio, there are a good amount of quality engineering schools in the midwest.

any good sites or so to look up good colleges on? if i could keep it in the midwest that would be great and the credits transfering is a big deal, but not as big of a deal as me getting a quality education in the field i want

Agreed that its better to get a quality education. It will take a while longer but worth it IMO, especially in a field as specialized as electrical engineering. I know several people that have degrees from ITT and I think only one of them is actually happy with what they are doing.

Here is some good listing info. Kind of have to sort through all the crap but its a good start.

Hey if your serious about an engineering degree come on over to Lawrence Tech. Its right in Southfield and is one of the top engineering schools in our state.

Its costly though at $720 a credit hour. Im not sure on the specifics of the EE degree though as Im going for Mechanical, but check out their website

www.ltu.edu

Its an awesome school (for academics), small classes, good staff, nice people. Students from all over, but unfortunately theres a lot from Saudi.

^ Classes in the fall are going to be about $10,000 for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif (14 credit hours)

you want a UNIVERSITY, not a tech school.

you go there? havent checked the site yet but will soon. that is pretty pricy but itt is costing me 40k for 2 years and i dont want to get shit education for that kind of money

Universities are much more challenging and prestigious, I thought that was common knowledge.

I go to Missouri University of Science & Technology, if that is of any use to you.

itt tech is a publically traded for profit school. it shouldnt be any suprise that its not academically challenging

a degree in philosphy from purdue would probably land you a better engineering job than a degree from itt tech
