Nakamichi Amp

A friend of mine is selling his Nakamichi PA-8001, he is willing to sell it for $200. How is the quality, I have havent heard it, but he was powering 3 JLw6's no prob. Anyone have a Naka? or used one in a install? THanx

Nak makes good to high end equipment overall, but their primary items are the head units..See if he will let you test it in your system for a trial run..he will let you if he really wants to sell it..If it sounds good to you go for it.

My friend has a very old Nak amp. It sounds great and has never given him probs. Based on that I'd say they're good.

I can't comlpain about old amps. I am still using my Haman Kardon CA260..hell I don't even know if the damn thing is 2 ohm stable or high current for that matter..never been able to find out. I have to say for the power it will still compete with a bunch of the crap on the market today. I do have new plans for my next system though so it could very well be going bye bye.

I have a 96' a4 with nakamichi all around. Nakamichi is known for its head units but i would have to say that there amps are still very good. It will be hrd to find a more of an amp than the pa 8001 and for two hundred bucks! take two.
