Just installed my system about a month ago in my Cavalier, and have been competing since two days after it was finished...
It consists of:
2 Infinity Kappa 6.5 component sets in front doors/sail panel
2 Infinity Kappa 6x9s in rear deck (tweeters removed, dust cap installed)
2 Infinity Reference 12s in trunk
All Infinity Kappa Crossovers
Pioneer DEX-P6300 source
Rockford Fosgate amps (Power 1000.2 to 12s, Power 360.2 to 6x9s, Power 400.4 to 6.5s)
I have won every SQ comp that I have competed in, sometimes by as much as 40 points. The system images beautifully (48 out of 50 points!), but it has some problems with frequency reproduction. It has a huge hump (1.6 dB) at 1200-1400 Hz (voice range), so I need to add an EQ to the mix. Other than that, though, the response is almost perfectly flat from 32-21,000 Hz. 2 questions now:
1. What hideaway/remote-operable EQs are recommended by you guys? I need a remote-op because I can't keep losing points in signal polish. I don't think it's supposed to work that way - don't think the judges up here know much about what they're talking about //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
2. Are there any good sites on the internet describing the process of building/tuning a semi-permeable membrane enclosure? The 12s are going to be removed from the trunk and relocated to the footwells.
So tell me what you think of my ideas/equipment or whatever... and SOMEBODY move to Alaska so I can get some **** competition up here!
Thanks for the info,
Kyle Moeller
