mtx202 and avh-6600p

to start i have a mtx202 amp and a 10" sony explode sub woofer . i made all connection to the amp according to amp instructions battery , ground, rem, and briged the out put to the sub woofer. From the head unit i plugged in the extra rca out puts that come with the hu and ran rca s from the subwoofer out put to the amps rca input. the problem is there is nothing coming from the sub. the led on the amp is on so i assume its getting power. I have tried every type of setting that i could think of put still no sound. i have tested the subwoofer so i know it works. my main issue is to be able to control the subwoofer from the hu and not have it run off my rear speakers. Please help me with any setting suggestions or to what the problem might be. By the way all the products are brand new. I unsure if there is a compatability issue with the hu and the amp
