Are you being serious or a smartass? but for exaple there would be a huge difference betweeen costs if you had a gsxr600 or if you had a 250 cruiser

Serious lol, yeah thats what I figured. Street bikes tend to be rapage on insurance, so I was shocked to hear different for a second. I have heard people get some pretty decent deals with 600's and such though. It all depends from what I have read. Fortunately my uncle just bought a 110 cu Screaming Eagle Harley //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif He has that and an ultra, which we will take turns on when we go riding down south in the summer!!! its 16 with a valid DL license. But i did have to take a motorcycle safety course. i got my M class, which is any CC size etc..... The class is a joke if you can ride, and if you cant i would recommend taking it for your own sake.

when i was 17 my uncle bought me a old ninja 600r, insurance was 1200 per 6 months / liability only. I was forced to sell it due to my rates. i now have a sportster 1200 and as a secondary driver for my dads bike and mine i only pay 200 a year for both. The younger you are, the more insurance rapes you.

is motorcycle insurance alot more expensive than insurance for a car?

Not really. Be real careful though what you sign up for. Cheap isnt always good. Gieco quoted me $350 a year till I read the fine print and it doesnt cover anything at all.

I currently pay $650 every 6 months through farmers for my insurance and Im covered on the two bikes in the house.

I think I will wait till I turn 21 to buy myself a bike. No matter what I do I know insurance is going to **** me, and my parents dont support riding (my mom thinks motorcycles are the devil) so insurance couldnt go in either of their names.
