MDF vs Other

I building a box and i found a couple of other woods that are a hell of a lot cheaper than MDF and i was wondering if cutting costs by buying some fiber board or anything like that would be worth it.

MDF is $16 per 4'x8' sheet at Home Depot here. That is cheaper than anything else I have seen except particle board which I wouldn't even use for firewood.

yea dude MDF is very strong dun use anything else just make sure u have a good saw and u set

Eh, like other people said, your box could of use a little more bracing, and some resin wouldn't hurt!

Shut the hell up. I still a newbie at this ****, and I figured i would end up using the MDF, but i have a limited, very very very limited budget. and i'd like to cut costs any where i can.

Go ahead with paricle board if you want! MDF is just stronger. If you go with paricle board, I suggest lots of bracing, maybe some fiberglass resin to help strengthen the wood!

ONLY thing i would use if not MDF, is HDF!!!

And i would imagine it cost more then MDF, being it's higher quality.

Will for my Yukon XL setup in the future.

I used MDF board even being on a budget kept me below 25$. But I already had Nail gun n nails for it. I obught 8 by 4 sheet. And Liquid Nails.
