MB Quart ONX4.125 active capable????

Well not direct evidence, but right now Maxxxonics has less than a handful of amps that do rated and cleanly. The MB Quart DSC1500.1, the 4125, and the Crunch 3000d.
Their Hifonics line for example. Lets take the 1608d. Rated for 1600@1, benches at 1200@1 and clips the signal around a whole whopping 800 watts according to the bench testing. I wouldnt touch anything by Maxxxonics.
now i have to agree on the hifonics. i know someone with a 2608 and we clamped it. didn't even do 2k. now i love my discus 1500 and we clamped it and it does more than rated. will be powering a pair of sa-15's when i get them.

But did it do rated power with an unclipped signal? Doing rated power with a clipped signal and doing rated power with a clipped signal are two very different things.

MB Quart Discus amps are very nice. Look for guts of the 2000.1D and get back to me.

They may not share the same board, but they share the same crappy parent company and build house.Said parent company also makes horrible quality products that dont do power cleanly or even do rated power.
I don't know anything about what goes into their (Maxxsonics) other brands and to be honest, don't care. This discussion is about the MB Quart 4.125. You seem to have a real hatred for a company who's products you apparently don't even use. Just let it go.

^^^

you dont have to have a hatred on a company that doesnt make solid gear.

I have bought the discus 480 & 4.125 amps.

which have fail in the long run.

the first 4.125 i had had a whining noise which i sent back for replacement.

the replacement 4.125 has been just as bad.

the problem is channel 1 is going out.

it cuts off & then about ten minute the channel comes back on.

i did text this amp out, which i will be sending it out for a replacement again.

I wouldn't buy another MB Quarts amp again.

the replacement 4.125 will be going into my boyfriends car.

Bottom line is the MB Quart Discus amps have been clamped, tested, and used to death. The great majority of people are happy with their purchase. You don't have to buy a expensive *** Sundown amp to get a quality product that does the job. I'd rather run something that everyone looks at and goes "meh" and beat them with it.

No hatred what so ever. Just dont understand the forum logic with the latest Maxxonics garbage amps.

MB Quart is not even close to the same level of reliability, SQ, or output of a Sundown, AQ, IA, etc.

Do you have any hard facts to back those statements up? Sounds like you are nuthugging. Just because something doesn't have a Sundown logo on it doesn't mean that it can't do rated power and produce clean sound at a fair price. It is nearly impossible to tell the difference between SQ on amps. Reliability is something I've never had to worry about because I take care of my stuff. I've heard of more Sundown amps breaking on here than the MB Quart Discus amps. Please stop your ignorance and lick your wounds.

Eclipse is garbage because it ain't Sundown. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Nut hugging a company I dont run? Sounds to me like you need to lick yours. If you cant hear any difference in SQ between amps I guess your MB Quart would sound just as good as a McIntosh, Zapco, or Sinfoni. Elohel. Not going to happen.

Eclipse isnt meant to get loud its built for SQ with the exception of a few subs, but subs arent the discussion here. Im willing to bet that Eclipse sounds just as good if not better than a Sundown amp especially the old PA and EA lineups, Id even put my XA5000 up against a Sundown or AQ in terms of SQ. And Eclipse > Maxxxonics any day of the week in terms of reliability, SQ, doing rated power, and doing it cleanly. So lets not bring this into the equation.

Please convince me all these people are wrong.

By the way. You're an idiot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
How many of those people are actually reliable? Of course youd see a Maxxonics dealer in there. How many of those people are Maxxonics jock riders like yourself? How many have actually bench tested the amp? The question isnt about it doing rated power. Its about doing rated power cleanly. You dont seem to understand doing rated power and doing it cleanly are two very different things.

This thread is going to end up just like the other Maxxxonics threads. The jock riders will be all butt hurt, fail to see the difference between rated and doing it cleanly, and continue thinking new MB Quart sounds great because they havent heard anything else. I guess if your happy spending money on something that hasnt been bench tested and proven to send a clean signal more power to you.

Let me ask you this. If MB Quart is so SQ why havent you seen any MB Dsc series amps in SQ competitions? Oh yeah thats right amps dont matter, they all sound the same.

You're right, subs aren't the discussion here. Neither is Eclipse or anything else...other than the MB QUART ONYX 4.125. The original topic was a question about the new 4.125 being active capable. So, why are you still posting in this thread?
