Glad Im not the only one. They are made by Maxxsonics now. They are not the brand that they once were.
amen brother!!! LOL dont think theres much or anything out there that can beat the discus far as price and sq........The onyx isn't worth the extra money when the discus' are easily attainable.
ya those decks are KILLER!! even the reg bass engine and + where pretty useful....Alpine should kill themselves for discontinuing the Bass Engine Pro HUs.
Well not direct evidence, but right now Maxxxonics has less than a handful of amps that do rated and cleanly. The MB Quart DSC1500.1, the 4125, and the Crunch 3000d.I've never heard the first complaint about MB Quart amps having any SQ issues. Alittle evidence for such a claim would be helpful. Otherwise...
The MB Quart Discus series and the ONYX series are BOTH built by Maxxsonics.
I thought we were discussing the ONYX4.125? So, the 4.125 does rated and cleanly. The older DSC2000.1d and DSc1500.1d both do rated + some. Maybe I am missing something, how does that qualify them as "crap"? They (MB Quart) do NOT share the same boards as Hifonics, Crunch or Autotek. So why would you expect the Quarts to fall short in rated, clean power?Well not direct evidence, but right now Maxxxonics has less than a handful of amps that do rated and cleanly. Their Hifonics line for example. Lets take the 1608d. Rated for 1600@1, benches at 1200@1 and clips the signal around a whole whopping 800 watts according to the bench testing. I wouldnt touch anything by Maxxxonics.
They may not share the same board, but they share the same crappy parent company and build house.Said parent company also makes horrible quality products that dont do power cleanly or even do rated power.I thought we were discussing the ONYX4.125?
