MB Quart ONX4.125 active capable????

"MB Quart" is now known as GermanMaestro. oddly enough, the same crossovers and tweeters are shared between the companies. im sure more is shared but thats all ive noticed upon casual observing. some of thier lines still use the previous "old" tweeters from a decade ago.

germanmaestro does not make car audio amps from what i can tell. they only do speakers on the auto side. they have positioned themselves as "high end" like how MB Quart used to be viewed but their gear is shared with "low end" names now. overall, GM is prolly better as you can warp the basket by hand on alot of MB Q speakers [ wtf? ] and that shows the build quality. however MB Q is not bottom barrel by any means,

Active HUs > Active amps. You wanna go and change a dial on your amp to try and set the crossover? If it's on a dial you might also notice the crossover is super hard to tune to the same level twice.

I really could care less who makes MB Quart now. Ask anyone with a Discus amp and they will tell you they are excellent amps. I'll run just about anything if it fits my needs and has a reasonable price. Brand has minimal influence in my decisions. Are there better companies out there then others? You bet. I however, put the brand logo aside and focus on performance strictly.

The regular Bass Engine blew goats for quarters and the Plus wasn't much better. The Pro was fantastic though since it was capable of running active two-way plus sub with time alignment and 5-band parametric EQ on each channel. In addition it had a global EQ also. The other two versions simply had a semi parametric bass boost, no bandpass ability and no time alignment. My 9813 died and the deck I replaced it with was a total POS in comparison even though it was in theory a higher series deck.

I've never heard the first complaint about MB Quart amps having any SQ issues. Alittle evidence for such a claim would be helpful. Otherwise...

The MB Quart Discus series and the ONYX series are BOTH built by Maxxsonics.

Well not direct evidence, but right now Maxxxonics has less than a handful of amps that do rated and cleanly. The MB Quart DSC1500.1, the 4125, and the Crunch 3000d.

Their Hifonics line for example. Lets take the 1608d. Rated for 1600@1, benches at 1200@1 and clips the signal around a whole whopping 800 watts according to the bench testing. I wouldnt touch anything by Maxxxonics.

I thought we were discussing the ONYX4.125? So, the 4.125 does rated and cleanly. The older DSC2000.1d and DSc1500.1d both do rated + some. Maybe I am missing something, how does that qualify them as "crap"? They (MB Quart) do NOT share the same boards as Hifonics, Crunch or Autotek. So why would you expect the Quarts to fall short in rated, clean power?

They may not share the same board, but they share the same crappy parent company and build house.Said parent company also makes horrible quality products that dont do power cleanly or even do rated power.
