MB Quart ONX4.125 active capable????

MB Quart ONX4.125 - 1000W RMS ONYX 4-Channel Car Amplifier/Amp

I was looking at the new MB Quart ONX4.125 and noticed the HPF can be crossed as high as 13,000!!!! That means this amp can run active? The fuse rating also jumped from 100 on the Discus to 105. I found the amp for sale at Vminnovations for 209. Still a little too high for my likings. I think 175 is the highest I'd go but then again there is hardly any amps out there that can be crossed this high...

Use an active capable HU and it doesnt matter what the amp can cross at.

Another option is going with something more SQ oriented for active duty rather than a Maxxxonics piece.

My 4125 discus had very good SQ. I can't justify spending 300+ dollars on a "SQ amp" when it will most likely be inaudible anyways. You also won't be getting the power the ONX4.125 has most likely. SQ is user dependent. My buddy was running a DC Level 4 off an Audiopipe 1500D and it was easily one of the best setups I've heard. I'm not running anything at the moment but I will be running the JVC KD-AHD69. Nothing godly but a nice unit with lots of features.

Each speaker for each side is independently powered and crossedover instead of using s passive crossover like the ones supplied with the component sets you can buy
