Mazda alternator....work arounds?

As some of you may know, in mazda proteges, the ECU regulates the amperage of the alternator. And if you put a high output alt in it will fry the ECU.

The stock alt puts out 70-80 amps.

I have an EA4100 eclipse amp (75 rms x4) (which makes my headlights dim when bass hits)

and plan on adding a 1200.1d sundown to power 2 12" kicker cvr subs.

My current HU has 2v outputs.

What can I do to compensate for my shitty alternator? Any ideas?

is it possible to add another alternator?I could take out my spare tire and put the extra alt in the trunk.
lmao. Yeah, just hook up the wires, throw the second alternator in your trunk, and you're good to go!

...Are you kidding me?!? As to make myself not entirely worthless, you'll need to rig up the second alternator to your accessory belt for it to work. Not always an easy job...

Give him a break, he doesn't know how an engine is built.

As the engine spins, it powers a belt, which in turn powers several other portions of the engine, the alternator included. It produces its electricity from engine movement, not anything else.

Options include a reflashed ECU, a bigger, or a second, battery - getting a second alternator built for your car with a mount, which is not advised, it's frequently difficult, especially for your experience.

Or being easy with the gains. Battery is going to the best, its easier and cheaper, you might have to drive around once in a while with the music off, though, to make sure it stays charged.

ha thanks guys. I'm probably going to go with the big 3 and a new bat.

But I am pretty curious... Would it be possible to make a pulley system under the car, cover it with a case I can custom make out of fiberglass, and cut out a portion from under the spare tire location to create access of the pulley and mount the alternator in there. of course these things can be sealed with rubber moldings/caulk to prevent leaks.

Now I know it sounds pretty crazy, but does it sound like it would work? Any flaws you guys can see in the plan?

It sounds crazy because it IS crazy. Unless you really want to have Dr. Seuss like contraptions running throughout your car... and want to spend ridiculous amounts of money to have said Dr. Seuss contraptions built //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

When I do the big 3, should I use 4g wire or 0g?

I know people say bigger is better, but is it just overkill to go 0g with a stock 80amp alternator?

Also, I was looking at odyssey batteries. Is there another brand thats less expensive but just as reliable? I'm planning on running 1100 watts rms, what battery should I get? (and what specs should I look for?)
