i have a reg cab ford ranger and i have 2 perfectr 12's in a custom box and it will hit pretty hard (harder with doors open) but i put them in my friends mustange and it hits so hard it makes your vision blurry is there anyway i can get the subs to hit that hard in my restricted ranger cab?

I have got a reg cab Ranger too!!! How did you get 2 12s in there!!! I've got 2 10s in mine but I've been wanting to drop 2 12s in there for a while. What are the specs for your box. As for your question, there is not much you can do other than maybe put a cap on your amp to improve the SPL.

the box fits exacly to the back of the cab of my truck from speaker to speaker in the back be hind the seat my seats have to be pushed up some which is a prob since im 6'5" but i manage it would be impossible to give exact specs cause of its odd shape =( it took alot of time and some tools most ppl wouldnt have if u would like i could send ya a pic of it

I posted a few weeks ago about how i had the only reg. cab ranger i knew of that had a pair of 12's in it.....congratulations, sir, on being #2. I accomplished it by swapping the original bench-bucket seats out for a pair of buckets. It looks a lot nicer, a lot roomier, plus I GOT BUMPS! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The box I built for 12's is 14" in height, 36" in width, 12" deep at the bottom and 6.5" deep at the top. Using 3/4" MDF for construction, i got a sealed enclosure with almost a foot of cubic air space per chamber (somewhere in the neighborhood of .95 feet). I'd highly suggest finding either a nissan 300zx, a ford escort, or a mid-90's probe to donate a pair of buckets for your ride. if you install them right, not only will it enhance the look of your interrior, but you'll have WAY more room for what's really important: BUMPS.

I also had an idea, and I'll try to get my drawings scanned as soon as their finished, for center and overhead consoles for my truck. I'd use the center as an amp rack and the overhead to show off my wiring (switches, distro blocks, fuses, etc.). Right now my amp is bolted down between the seats, and it looks okay, but a motorized amp rack would look soooooo much better, don't ya think?

Well the box i just bought a sheet of 3/4 inch particle board and made the box myself with some help from friends so it was real cheap i still have all factory seats and everything i just removed the rear speakers and built a amp bracet that hold my amp from the bolts in the jack holder and it bends around my box and holds it about window high ...................my ranger dont hit all that hard though ....just dont have enough space in the cab it sounds good with the doors open but with closed it would even make my chest have the warm jelly feeling =)

I have an extended cab ranger and the small volume is not too good either. I just got a slide but it doesn't seem to help much. Rolling the windows down does help alot though.

i have a reg cab f150 so i feel your pain

open your slider window too, it makes some good difference too. i had a supercrewsound box but it ****** cuz it didnt gie enough breathing room to my CVR 10's. building a box with my friend for a big 12 (being fed 900 watts RMS) and i hope that gives me the bump i need

***** for us reg cab truck people. My MTX aren't all that great right now, but my next subs (sound splinter) are meant for smaller enclosures so i'm hoping that helps out some.

its not really the space that screws us over . . theres plenty of that back there. if you build smart you can hvae two sealed boxes wtih around 1 cu feet internally for each, or a ported 2+cu foot box. its just the mount depth that kills

you can fit anything if you go custom, it just matters how much legroom you want to lose
