Subsonic 1/2 way. That will be around 25 Hz cutoff. Low pass 1/4 of the way; that will be around 85Hz. For the Gain, set the radio Bass all the way up. Turn off all bass boost/Loudness. With the Gain completely down and the remote knob 3/4 up, turn your radio up to 75%. Now turn Gain up until you feel the sub is about to distort. Back it off just a bit and you are set.I recently installed a skar subwoofer (SVR-10 @ 2ohms) with a skar RP-350, I was wondering how to set the gain, subsonic filter and LPF?
(My enclosure is tuned at 38)
tbh its a long story, i couldnt get it in my country so i made a friend ship them to me from the us (i cant return them now and get another because im just gonna pay alot for the shipping and all), i got a big 3 upgrade on my car but thats about it,Thats a 350w amp (1ohm RMS) and a DVC 2ohm 800w rms sub.
(I really don't try to be rude), I see they are both on sale, did you just buy the cheapest amp and sub you found after searching for a few minutes and skar came up?
That's just not a good combo at all. There's a lot of questions here if you want to go through em.
* Can you still return either one of these?
* Do you have the electrical for a larger alternator, or are you willing to upgrade your alt?
* Do you not care what I think, and want to just set your gain and be done with your underpowered sub that will have a short life if you crank that up on that low wattage?
* Why didn't you spend another $30 and get the RP 800.1D? This is the amp you should have gotten for that sub, and you will eventually want to. I promise you if you can return that amp, and get this one you WANT TO!

Anywhere that ships with USPS (US Postal Service) will ship to Bahrain. Skaraudio.com says they don't ship internationally (any more, but they do use USPS), and they will fix that soon, but it was written two years ago. It looks like a policy they made during the covid slowdown. If it was me, I would reach out to them directly to make sure, (It can't hurt). Covid slowdown seems to be over with as far as shipping goes, and just looks like they haven't gone back and reevaluated it.
Maybe someone else will share how, but I THINK if you run that sub and amp, you are going to underpower it bad, and it won't last long, even if you get the gain and settings correct. I know you just want your music, but I don't think it's the right plan for the long term, it just gets you where you want it to be TODAY.
From the research i did, setting the gain correctly would be safe, it just wont get the full potential of the subwoofer because underpowering wont hurt a thing but a clipping or distorted signal would hurt the subwoofer. it seems that underpowering increases the chance of sending a clipped signal to the sub as people with a underpowered amp usually set the gain wrong by increasing the gain to get more out of the sub but end up sending clipped signal and frying the sub, thats why many are saying underpower amp would kill the sub. (so in conclusion from the research i did, underpowering is fine if the gain is set correctly eliminating clipping & distortion but i wont get the full potential of the sub)Anywhere that ships with USPS (US Postal Service) will ship to Bahrain. youre right, but thats why there is the lpf and subsonic level to set, as it will block the frequencies i dont want to the subPlay it safe. Your theory seems solid yet when it comes to music, there’s a lot of frequency combinations and recording level differences that play havoc with a setting level that sounds good for one song yet the next song may introduce frequencies higher or bassier than what you safely set or accommodated for.
I’m new compared to some of these enthusiasts yet I’ve not blown any equipment. I started with a set of $50 subs and a matching amp. It added sound but i soon learned it wasn’t what I was looking for. I sold that setup and researched the next most affordable one for me and then replaced that one. I’ve lost track of how much I’ve spent on my conservative approach of improving my sound system.
