Yeah man its real bad down here, i really havent been able to watch the news all that much, ive been busy, but are you for real about the pumps, because if so that will cause 9-12 more feet of water to rise in the city IIRC someone at the red cross told me that.

only in the deep south too.think about 9/11 ... New York rallied around their people, their city... but no, in Louisiana they're raping their women stealing shit everywhere, breaking into people houses, firing at RESCUE helicopters?!?...

Dude seriously, dont use gerneralizations like that i have lived in the deep south my whole life and i have vacationed in the north many times, and i have to say southern people are some of the kindest people around. New Orleans is basically a third world country (its nothing but a party town) If you drive 10 miles east or west and see towns like Slidell, Mandeville, Covington, Hammond, ECT. you will find some of the nicest people around, and they lost everything litterally so think about what you type before you type it.

i only get my info from the news....and people are putting signs up saying the water is rising...and on top of that..theres no power ..i hope the pumps run on generators...cause if not...NO is in 4 a rude awaking

Yes, only a few down powerlines and trees, we were on the west side of the hurricane (usually the weaker side) so all we got was around 70 MPH winds and some driving rains, but we were up and running the same day, Electricity/telephone/cable

The pumps are currently running on Natural Gas IIRC, and im pretty sure that the supply they have is dwendling.

i didn't mean it to come across as an ignorant statement, but as far as New Orleans go its proven at least somewhat true hasn't it?

and i know people in the south are nice, my friend is one of the most polite/kind people i've ever met. probably THE most polite, actually. everyone is ma'am and sir thats older than him, i love it.

and yeah, i can't say i've ever been to new orleans, but our manager told us about it... says its basically a party, all the time, and that its out of control, all the time. says there's no place else like it.

i just found out from my wife..that they are hiring people to go down there and work 80-90hour weeks at a 10dollar an hour rate..to help out with the disaster and there paying inspectors 32dollars an hour to work down there

What kind of people are stupid enough to go into that war zone? Money sounds good, but you can't spend it if you get murdered by the thugs who've over-run the city so to speak.

yeah dude, i know, and New Orleans is a party town and you couldnt give me a million dollars to live there, its just that all of my friends at college are devistated (LSU, 31,000 studends, 5-8 thousand lived in the greater New Orleans area) I was at the Frat house earlier and alot of my fraterity brothers family's are there and they have litterally been crying for days, and its really starting to take a toll on me now, thats why im headed home for the weekend for some much need rest and sleep, so sorry if i jumped on you i didnt mean to.

you're well understood ... at least to an extent. i can't for the life of me understand what its like to be in a disaster like that.... to say the least...don't even worry about being jumpy.
