I don't know...

I've just been reading news reports, and talking to an old friend of mine that lives in Louisiana, dont remember the name of the town... i'd know it if i heard it; and reading news reports online. It's absolutely crazy.

from what i've read... there are groups of young men running around in isolated areas raping girls and women, looting is out of control, the mayor of New Orleans ordered some of the police force to try to stop the rampant killing/raping/looting that the PEOPLE are committing in New Orleans ... a hospital is being held down by at least two men that are SNIPING the hospital. yeah. snipers. at a hospital.... i dont know. just crazy shit from what i've read in the news... and then what my friend has told me.

his town wasn't affected by the hurricane physically. like, buildings and shit weren't swept away.

but gangs have moved up, they broke into the walmart gunstore in broad daylight and used the guns to hold up people in the store. gangs have been robbing houses where he lives and he hears gunshots still every once in a while from his house. he's just holdin a loaded gun and praying he'll stay safe with his family.

who knows how much of it is over-exaggerated, but still.

just getting a general picture of anarchy and insanity from the South....

No doubt it's the last course of action, and ethically a shitty thing to do, but that's how you deal with an armed mob. With more firepower than they have.

Not Flood gates, all new orleans is surrounded by Levees(spell?), they are concerened about the pumps failing, which they are if they already havent.

i just found out from my wife..that they are hiring people to go down there and work 80-90hour weeks at a 10dollar an hour rate..to help out with the disaster

and there paying inspectors 32dollars an hour to work down there

Sad, but true. I hate to say that about my fellow Louisianians but yado what ya gotta do. I sympathize with each and every poor soul afflicted by this tragedy but literally firing upon those who come with aid is pure lunacy.
