Looking into DLP,LCD.

I'm going to be purchasing a TV within the next year. I'm trying to stay as close to 1k maybe a little more as I can. I'm looking for something 40-50". I know nothing about TV's so I wanted some opinions on my purchase. I plan on buying on line from an authorized dealer. So......what's out at a good deal? If there are going to be price drop's on anything in the future I'd gladly take advice on those as well. I won't be purchasing it for a few months. Links if you will......
