I am pretty unhappy with my system at the moment, it is most likely due to the subs not being installed properly and me not making hte right decisions... so now i ahve an oppurtunity to start all over with my system... im into sound quality at high volumes but subs that hit like a motherfu*ker... i have focal utopias right now unfortunally only 5.25 which are really lackin midbass/midrange... and my 2 10s w7s arent sounding right.... this install is going to go into a 2004 BMW 330ci (its a coupe)... the components im keeping is the headunit (alpine 7998) and my amps which are jl 1000.1 and 300.4 and a cap... thats all im keeping from my current system... maybe the rear speakers i might keep... im def looking for 6.5 components up front and much deeper, louder bass... open to suggestions guys... i have about 2500 limit including install... im plannin on gettin everything at ebay prices cuz i have a hook for all this stuff....

Now as to what i was thinkin... possibly 2 13s w6v2 sealed facing the back, or 1 13w7 facing the bakc or forward... something along those lines... remember that the bmw trunk is amazing sealed off so barely any bass gets from the trunk to the cabin, the way i had it was that i had my rear seat folded down... and i dont have any ski pass... thanks guys...

One SI Mag D2, RE XXX or Adire Brahma will give those 2 W6v2s a run for their money and they are much lees expensive. The 1000/1 would be just about right on one of those. With the money you save, you can focus on the front stage. Get the Focal 6.5 Utopias if you like the sound of them. Shop around. Listen to a bunch of different sets of speakers. Consider adding a 300/2 to run the midbasses and build an actively crossed over 3-way front stage with the mids and tweets running off the 300/4 and the midbasses on the 300/2. Lose the rear speakers and use the openings for them to vent the bass from the sub into the cabin of the car.

i ahve already removed my my stock 6x9s in the rear to allow some bass in but its still way too sealed off with the seat up... im not worried about being less expensive at this point... im intersted in whats the best out there to be honest... i cant get 3 ways in the front unless i build a custom pod somehow which is wayyy to much money... im thinkin of just puttin the 6.5 utopias in the doors, and keep my 5.25 utopias in the rear... as for subs... what would yield the loudest spl, and which would yield the best sq out of the following: i 13w7 ported, 2 13w6v2s sealed or ported, 2 12" idmaxes sealed/ported... those are the realistic options i have as using my amp but kidna underpowerin the idmaxes...

2 10 w7 should be pretty dope...

put midbass drivers in door...get kickpods for your car, i'm sure there are some available...put the components in those...cross them over at like 200 or something and have midbass run 200 down to 90, have ur sub do the rest...should be a dope ass system if you tune it right.

defintely get 6.5 components though,

My perfect system would be a 13w7 the jl 1000/1 for the sub, Diamond Hex components (6.5) in kicks, maybe some ID horns because i'd like to try them out, and an 8" driver doing midrange duty underneath the dash/in the console (RE 8).

what kind of box are the subs you currently have in?? i think you should fool around with boxes before you make any major changes because you would be surprised with what you could do with just changing the box....

right now i have the box facing the front of the car with the 2 10s sealed ... the back of the box has 2 plexi windows which shows the magnets of the subs from the trunk view... i have one rear seat folded down to allow bass to flow into the cabin... the way i have it now, i hear the movement of the subs so it makes a sound liek the sub is bottom out.. its really annoyin this way... so its more of an install problem than sub problem... and also my subs cant be crossed over higher than 50 because all they do is distort and they dont hit the bass is all floppy and distorted... so im sure its an install problem... at this point its easier for me to sell the subs with the box and panels than just the box and build a new box (easier meaning financially).... i never was fond of the idea of cuttin my ski pass but now im prety much all for doin it... i just have to figure out a clean way to cut it rhough and return it to stock whne the lease is up.... any more inputs guys?

Tell me a little more about how you would install the RE8
