for use in a comp. would u rather have 4 12" mtx 8000's or 4 alpine type r? they will be running of 2 jbl 1200.1....thnx for ur help

Well, if all you are looking for is my opinion on this- then here you are.

Type R's.

This years MTX Subwoofer lineup has not been the most impressive to me by any means. SQ, SPL, and definately not the bloody awful cosmetics either.

Just my preference...
