Camel spiders have a leg-span of 5" but are not "as big as dinner plates" as rumoured.
Not sure where you got that info, ut having actually seen them with a leg span in excess of 8" would give me cuase to say that you were misinformed. They are not really spiders but a type of scorpion (10 not 8 legs). They don't chase people, they just want to stay in your shadow.

azbass-whatever you have in AZ that you can sunspiders are different from these as these are only native to the Middle East.

Most people don't know that the camel spider can also be found in the southwest U.S. and Mexico.

Nope...thats from a Brown recluse...its just used to exagerate the myths of camel spyders //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They really arent dangerous at all...the most they will do is give you a nasty bite...
