Lets Class Subwoofer Brands

I HATE SUBWOOFER SHOPPING!!!! lol
How did you guys all choose what subs you were going to invest in.....?
At the time, I didnt really know much about the more internet based/underground manufacturers. I only knew about mainstream stuff.

I only had 300rms at 2ohms on tap and only 90 bucks to spend. And everthing in my car up till that point was infinity. So I figured I may as well buy infinity everything. haha

Type r's arent a waste of money. I hope you know what your doing, or quality subs isn't going to matter...
I really dont know what i am doing..... Im new to all this. The type r was a great sub. I was happy. But i dno i got bored with it and decided to sell them to buy something better.

I am going to do everything right this time. Unlike last time where i had shitty boxes, budget amp, stock alt. etc....

The type r would probably be enough for me in the right install but i just figure i will pay the premium to have the quality. I dont want to buy something and then wish i had waited and saved and got something better. Im no expert. But i plan to have BJ fish build my box. I plan on buying a sundown amp instead of keeping my budget hifonics crap. I plan to upgrade my alt. hopefully one day sound deaden my car. I want to have the WORKS. But it takes a lot of money. ALOT of money that i dont have. But it gives me something to save for and look forward to. If your saying i wont notice much a difference my question would be why not?

You get what you pay for.

Like another member mentioned, subwoofer efficiency ratings aren't the one spec to look at when determining output from a subwoofer system. You might want to read through a few articles (one is on subwoofer efficiency) we have hosted on our technical web page located here.

It really all depends on what you're after. You've said that you want something that hits "faster" but you also want it louder and lower. Do you have a lot of room to work with (2.5 to 4 ft^3 per woofer), or not a lot of room to work with (1 ft^3 per woofer)? How important is loudness over sound quality to you or is it the other way around?

though with RE's new direct pricing after being bought up by US Amps, you may want to cross them off as well! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
What do you mean by that statement, I don't get the meaning of it? I saw a later post complaining that they now are too expensive, is that it? I find especially the RE SE to be very affordable where I come from, but then I have not compared to self import subs, but usually shipping can be rediculusly expensive.
