Lets Class Subwoofer Brands

Why did you "waste" money on Type R's? what did you not like about them?
I liked the type r's at first but after awhile i got tired of them and wanted more. They are a good budget sub though. Good for a beginning sub. They just didnt perform up to my expectations both with SQ and i wanted them to hit lowder. Someone told me i should have just got a different box but i know there is a better sub out there. Thats when i thought i would get the type X. but then i did some research and for that money you all here at this forum pointed me away from alpine.

I want something more than a type r can handle

nothing wrong with a Type X really, unless you pay retail.

i choose my subs upon their customization for the most part anymore, I like the option of building up a motor itself and selection the suspension/soft parts and all myself. apart from that, i'd just look at what gives me the most for my money and put money towards that. I'd make sure it'd be something I could easily find again incase i wanted more, etc.

I HATE SUBWOOFER SHOPPING!!!! lol
How did you guys all choose what subs you were going to invest in.....?
It depends on what you're wanting to do....daily beating around, SQ, or SPL competition.

I have probably gone thru 200 woofers in my life, and I still try new stuff just because I find it interesting, or want to apply them to a something new.

I want a sub for daily beating around. Something that will sound louder and better than my old type R's. I drive a 97 civic. I am planning on buying my amp after i choose my speakers. I want something that will sound better as far as quality than the shit my friends use (memphis, alpine, jl...) and i also want to be louder than them.

I would get the Q but im afraid i'd be dissapointed with its spl

I would get the BL but im afraid i'd be dissapointed with its SQ

I would get the mag but i dno about them.

I would try an audioque but i dno about them

I would try an RE but they way too expensive.

Q gets plenty loud if you have the power for them, bl will take more power.. but not sound as good as the Q, mag.. i'd say try the older model first, Aq, for the price are great.. and RE you just have to look harder, no more expensive than the others if you find a decent dealer.

I think ima go with the q. How do you think they will sound compared to my type r? Spl wise? Sq wise?

Do you think a SAZ-3000 is too much for two fi q's with bp?

Do you think the bl still has great quality?

Remember im comparing everything to a type r b/c that is the only woofer i have experiance with....

i've owned 40+ R 12s... loved that woofer :|.

3000 on 2 qs should be perfect with bp option, bl i've not had experience with but have heard others like them just fine.

what size were you planning on using again?
